Senior Full-Stack Software Developer


Job Description:

Analytic Measures Incorporated (AMI) is an employee-owned corporation that designs and builds advanced artificial intelligence (AI) applications and machine learning technologies for education products. AMI applies machine learning, psycholinguistics, and psychometrics to develop technology-enhanced products (Moby.Read) and scoring systems (amiScore). AMI is based in Palo Alto, California. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own all development for a typical web stack: from the database (SQL), to the web server, to the browser (Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS). 

  • Provide technical leadership and high-quality design and coding of our web applications. 

  • Lead integration and presentation of data and graphics, as well as building a means for users/administrators to manage their data. 

  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to create innovative solutions for various stakeholders and customers. 

  • Provide software development leadership to junior or intermediate-level staff when needed.



  • High technical competence, track record of strong coding and technical accomplishment

  • Experience with designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable enterprise applications

  • Proficient with different web frameworks, service-oriented architectures, web services, and MVC architectures 

  • Experience with developing web interfaces for applications using Java/Javascript/JQuery, HTML/HTML5, and CSS/CSS3

  • 5+ years of experience developing all layers of data driven, web-based software applications, including solution architecture and technical leadership roles

  • Experience on AWS Cloud infrastructure, with XML/JSON and RESTful web service integration and development

  • Minimum 3 years of experience writing efficient SQL statements

  • Experience working in Linux Development Environments and various scripting languages such as Shell and Python  

  • General exposure and experience with using open source technologies, tools, and frameworks

  • Strong analytics, problem solving, and communication skills, and the ability to provide team leadership and demonstrate the ability to drive a project to completion

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • C++ programming experience

  • Strong background in full lifecycle of mobile app projects - architecture, development, testing, deployment and configuration of iOS/Android mobile apps

  • Experience building complex iOS/Android Apps that have been successfully delivered to customers, and released at least one app in the App Store or Google Play
